Our Vision and Giving Priorities

Founded in 1998 as a pioneering not-for-profit, public-private partnership, IIIT Hyderabad was established to advance world-class technology research and deliver meaningful societal impact. As an autonomous, research-led university aspiring to be among the world’s foremost technology centres, we believe our greatest strength lies in our community. Every milestone achieved across our campus carries the direct imprint of our alumni, whose sustained engagement and generosity continue to shape the institution’s journey and open doors for the next generation of innovators.

This giving season, our priorities center on honoring the mentors who built us and empowering the students who follow. The Prof. Govindarajulu Auditorium initiative seeks to establish a state-of-the-art space for learning, dialogue, and collaboration— celebrating the enduring legacy and mentorship of Prof. R. Govindarajulu through collective alumni contributions. Alongside this, the Alumni Fund channels vital support directly toward student financial aid, cutting-edge research, and institutional growth. Together, these focus areas invite our global alumni community to honor our shared past, invest in the present, and power IIIT Hyderabad for generations to come.
